Gregg Allman, the legendary southern rock musician / singer-songwriter, has unfortunately lost his life today at the very young age of 69 years old in the comfort of his own home. Gregg has been fighting liver cancer and lost his strong battle this afternoon in Savannah, Georgia.
As many know, Gregg Allman was an absolute expert at his craft while being known for putting together the iconic southern act, Allman Brothers Band. The Allman Brothers Band thrived in the late sixties all the way through very recent years. From playing events with Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan, to headlining major fests including Wanee Festival in Live Oak, Florida.
The history goes on forever with these guys and the fact the drummer of the group, Butch Trucks, recently passed away from suicide back in January, makes it all more difficult for fans and musicians alike.
Gregg Allman has toured the world for over 45 years continuing to spill his heart and soul into his undying love for music. Even when The Allman Brothers Band officially split, Gregg never stopped touring under his solo act. On a weekend like Memorial Day, it's extremely important to be thankful for every moment we have on this Earth and celebrate our country especially with the leading pioneer of Southern American Rock and Roll music, Gregg Allman.
Enjoy some of the highlighted moments from the past few years and all time classics below. Rest In Peace Gregg. WE LOVE YOU!
